Ways your business, workplace, or organisation can support our appeal

Business and workplace support

Supporting Be Someone's Santa through your business or workplace is a great way to make a significant difference this Christmas. Our appeal is a great alternative to the traditional workplace Secret Santa.

We have outlined below just some of the ways in which your workplace, business, or organisation can support us.

We would love to hear from you.

Ways you can support us

Group registration

A lovely alternative to a workplace Secret Santa, and we have found in the past that businesses really enjoy taking part this way.

Group registration work in much the same way as an individual registration - the main difference is that all children being pledged for are recorded under one code. We would ask that a main point of contact from your business is appointed to coordinate with us, and to organise and collate all gifts.  .

If your team would rather support individually, then a great way to do this is to promote our appeal via your internal newsletter, intranet or communications. This helps raise awareness and encourages employees to take part on an individual basis.

Gift cards

Each year we struggle to fill our caseload of older children/teenagers (sadly, this is an age group that is less attractive to pledgers). Having gift cards is a superb option for this age group.  Ideal gift cards are Teen Choice, Odeon, Cineworld, Nandos, Greggs, Costa as these allow our young people to be social with their friends where funds would usually prevent this.

Please note: all gift cards must also be accompanied by the gift receipt. This means if there's an issue with the gift card, the recipients have a way to prove the value.

Fundraising

Does your team love a bake sale? Or, perhaps they're experts in raising funds?

Having available funds is hugely helpful to our appeal.  We often get last minute children added to our caseload (sometimes only a week before Christmas!), by which time it is too late for us to find an individual to pledge for. Having funds means we can buy emergency gifts for these children.

Emergency funds also allow us to top up bags where needed, buy essential items such as warm pyjamas, winter coats, and give some of the families in greatest need little 'extras' such as food vouchers or electricity top up cards.

We would love to hear your ideas for raising funds on behalf of our appeal.

Emergency extras

Sadly, there will always be those who pledge for a child, but who do not bring their gift.  Because we operate a 1-2-1 allocation, we then find ourselves short of a gift for that child.

Additionally, we will often get last minute children nominated for whom we have nobody to allocate to so funds and emergency extras come in useful here for making up emergency gift bags.

We have a list of useful extras e.g. gift cards, toiletry sets, hats/scarfs./gloves etc. that we are keen to collect this year to cover us for emergencies and top ups.
